Northwest Foundation of Washington: Northwest Foundation of Washington International Student Outreach ================================================================================ Ronald J. Treelow on 15 September, 2007 09:20:00 The Northwest Foundation of Washington is dedicated to internationalizing education for newly arrived students of all ages in the Pacific Northwest. To meet this goal we study the totality of education access to community by hosting interdisciplinary conferences and forums, holding immigrant education and language assimilation briefing series, and offering specialized K-12 survey monitoring programs. One of Northwest Foundation of Washington’s unique features is that it coordinates concerned academics and educators who research and teach about international migrations. Given Northwest Foundation of Washington’s educational mission, and its depth and breadth in immigration and education, the founders collaborated in 2005-6 with faculty from Seattle University and University of Washington’s College of Education. Our focus is to assist in curriculum development that assists educators to effectively serve and educate growing populations of immigrant school children.
