Northwest Foundation of Washington: Welcome To NWFOW! ================================================================================ admin on 17 September, 2007 04:56:00 A Multicultural Vision Northwest Foundation of Washington is committed to developing formative education, community and quality of life research projects such as immigrant families’ assimilation and access to education resources. We recently embarked on a pilot program which involves a series of targeted mini surveys. Volunteer undergraduate students will help with these assessments. Our focus hopes to continue and contribute to multicultural discussions encompassing housing and basic needs for at risk families, who seek a better life for their children. The primary purposes of these assessments are to determine: * The degree to which learning issues exist for non native English speakers * Matchmaking those resources available for our clients * The best approaches to meet the needs of at risk immigrant communities The first such assessment was developed in part by Northwest Foundation of Washington founder Jeom Ja Yeo M.Ed. In a presentation at the prestigious Asia TESOL conference in Seoul, Seattle University’s Dr. Yang and Ms Yeo explored "Guessing" a technique known to the world of English learners. You Can Make the Difference Volunteers are a vital part of Northwest Foundation of Washington. We welcome individuals, employee and church groups, students and former clients donate their time to help the people served by Northwest Foundation of Washington.
